David Bareford

David Bareford's paintings are distinctive for the rich use of color and his ability to "capture the moment". David has achieved international recognition for his large catalog of rowing paintings.

David began his artistic journey in high school. While attending the University of Montana, he discovered a book about contemporary water-colorists that determined his life course. His love of the sea as subject matter is inspired by his father, who shared with his children a passion for sailing and taught them to handle small boats.

After college, David's work flourished in an art colony on Cape Ann, MA.  He eventually turned his attention from watercolor to oil painting.

An elected member of many professional art organizations, David is a Fellow of the American Society of Marine Artists. His work is included in several corporate and private collections throughout the United States and abroad.
