Shirley Cean Youngs

Born in the farmlands of upstate New York in 1939, Shirely Cean Youngs has been a creative person throughout her life. She spent countless hours of her childhood exploring the woods, fields and Lake Ontario, where she learned much about nature. A self-taught artist, Shirley realized as she grew older that she could use her art as an instrument to pass divine love along to others. Later in her career, Shirley developed an impressionist style after years of painting plein air landscapes and studio figure drawing. Shirley’s work has been exhibited throughout the United States and in France, Germany, the Netherlands, Switzerland and Canada. Her work has also received numerous awards, appeared on national television and been featured in magazines, newspapers and books. Shirley is a prominent member of the Pastel Society of America, and her work hangs in the National Museum of Women in the Arts in Washington, D.C.
