Description
HALF MOON, 18' canoe yawl by W. Barlow of Providence, Rhode Island, spotted the design of Akester's 1886 canoe-yawl IRIS in W.P. Stephens's, Canoe and Boat Building for Amateurs. He was looking for something a bit different for sailing on Narragansett Bay. He and his son planked her up, added 460 pounds and 4" to her shallow keel, and changed her rig to a gunter lug.
