Seaford skiff, Charles Verity Built
Verity, Charles
Description
Mystic Seaport's boatshop built a Seaford skiff to replace the Ketchum skiff that had been serving the Museum's boat livery for some years. The Mystic Seaport boat builders took the opportunity to research these boats a bit more and draw another one. The Verity from the Seaford Historical Society on Long Island caught their eye, and they drew her, but decided to build another Ketchum. You can now sail her replica at the Museum's boat livery. She is named for Helen Packer, the long-serving secretary who helped the boat shop and handled the sale of boat plans. From 87 Boat Designs by Ben Fuller.
