Description
Flatiron skiff WILBUR, designed and built by Valerie Danforth at Mystic Seaport, 1978; the first boat built by Williams Mystic College students,1983. Lines taken from 10'-3" flatiron skiff, 1976.72, in collection and rearranged. Cross-planked flat bottom, 2 planks to a side, bottom and planking cedar; transom yellow pine; frames, chine, stem, stringer, rub-rail, step all oak; sprit rig with daggerboard. Cream, oiled interior, topsides dark green, bottom brown. Oarlocks, sprit rig with sail, daggerboard, rudder and tiller.Lines. Plans are dated 1978-1979.
