Electric Washer and Wringer, 1921
Rosenfeld Collection
Description
Although labor intensive by today's standards, the onset of electricity brought new methods of daily chores into the home, such as the wringer washing machine introduced by Western Electric. Prior to the development of washing machines, laundry was either sent out or could take an entire day to do at home. Electrically powered washing machines could reduce the time to half a day.
