Collection: Mystic Seaport Museum
The last wooden whaleship and the oldest American commercial ship still afloat, the Charles W. Morgan, is one of four National Historic Landmark Vessels at Mystic Seaport. Launched in 1841 in New Bedford, Massachusetts, the Morgan sailed on 37 whaling voyages to oceans and ports around the globe during her 80-year career.
In the Summer of 2014, the ship set sail on her 38th voyage to raise awareness of Americaās maritime heritage and to call attention to issues of ocean sustainability and conservation.
