This rugged Life Station boat came from the island of Cuttyhunk, Massachusetts, located between Vineyard Sound and Buzzards Bay.  It is a direct descendant of the Humane Society Boat, built in the 1940’s for launching through heavy surf and rescue of ships wrecked mariners. Plans drawn by Mystic Seaport staff.
