The smallest of the McGee Island Maine, boats, is the one the family called FAT BOAT. She is a chunky utility dory skiff 12' 6" by 5'.   Measured by John Gardner in 1983, he drew her up as Guy Gardner of Swampscott (one of George Chaisson's competitors) built her.  John then redrew the plans to 13' 7" and used as the basis for a larger adaptation plus a sailing rig, also called FAT BOAT.  See Ships Plans Catalog Nr.112.29 for those plans.  Recommended reading: John Gardner's book Wooden Boats to Build and Use .
