JAMES MILLER, Three Masted Schooner (Model)
JAMES MILLER, Three Masted Schooner (Model)
SKU:WSP.12.93
Plans used by William S. Quincy for building the rigged model of the tern schooner JAMES MILLER. The lines were drawn from the offsets furnished by Nehemiah Hayden, the designer, to J.W. Griffiths for publication in the Nautical Monthly Magazine, November, 1854. The sail plan was developed from information contained in a journal kept by Nehemiah Hayden, contemporary paintings of other three-masters of the period, discussions with Capt. Carl Anderson and Capt. Francis Bowker and the usual practice of the period. Plans drawn by Mystic Seaport staff in 1976.
